Is a sextet that plays the compositions of guitarist Machiel Heremans. Despite the rather traditional jazz line-up, the sextet creates an original sound. They do this by focusing on new possibilities to let the two saxophonists play together. For example, by giving them the role of accompanist, or making them use counterpoint. This combined with rich colours, guitar effects and expressive dynamics produces narrative music with a rough edge. At the beginning of October 2020, their debut EP was released on the Zennezrecords label.

Web Site

Leading pianist and composer Geoffrey Fiorese has decided to build his Quartet project around the myth of "Terpsichore", the muse of dance. This close relationship between music and dance invites us to receive a sound, a melody, not by simple listening, but through the prism of a global perception, where the whole body serves as a receptacle for sound harmony. A large amount of improvisation is left to the musicians who are thus able to react in the moment to an impulse, a feeling, like an imaginary dance that one would build continuously from impressions left by the senses. This project is about living the music, feeling it to the depths of your being, taking the spectator through a unique experience. Between long meditative musical poems and surging improvisations bordering free jazz, this project transcends the frontiers of jazz and thus gradually brings the listener to unknown
territories where listening results in self-forgetfulness.

Anemic Cinema is a quartet led by guitarist Artan Buleshkaj. The band features some of Belgium’s most adventurous young improvisers: Rob Banken (alto saxophone, clarinet), Steven Delannoye (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet) and Matthias de Waele (drums). Combining jagged sonorities and riff-based passages from heavy metal, metric structures and (freely) improvised sections inspired by (avant-)jazz, and harmonies reminiscent of modern classical composers, the band creates an eerie atmosphere featuring intensely nervous and volatile passages that coexist with moments of disquieting reverie.
